In FeedView a Ration is the mix of grains and other additives that you feed your animals. Rations allow you to document what you are currently feeding your animals as well as a history of what you fed them.
In FeedView, the ration is also used to calculate the contents of your vessels. The software uses the density of that ration and your selected display units so that the data you see on the dashboard is accurate.
When naming the ration, be sure to use a name that you and your mill recognize as it is also used on orders to the Feedmill to indicate what the mill should make.
A FeedBin must have a Ration assigned to it in order to calculate the number of tons of feed in the bin.
This is because you must assign a density of the Ration to the Ration. The bulk density is input in tons/ft3. If you have it in lbs/ft3 just divide that number by 2000 and enter it. Example 35 lbs/ft3 is 0.01875 tons/ft3.
