If you are feeding mash feed you will want to carefully aim the FVL-200 sensor to make sure the system works properly. We recommend the laser is mounted and positioned so the laser is as vertical as possible, but hit the bin wall about 1-2 feet above the feed bin outlet.
Do not point the laser at the bin outlet. This will give poor measurements as most of the time the sensor will read down the rat hole and not give a proper distance to the feed.

This video shows the laser properly pointed with the bin full and the rat hole starting to form down the middle of the bin.
When properly pointed the bin levels will appear to "stair step" down as seen in this image.
If you point the FVL-200 too much down the center and start seeing the rat hole too much, you will see a quick empty and then a back fill. You can see this at points 1 and 2 below.
