3D Level Scanners 4-20mA output is based off of volume defined when setting up vessel parameters in the 3D Vision WIZARD software configuration.  These are distance related figures.  Sensors are like tape measures, not scales.  Distance readings are based on mA output.

Example

4mA output is empty or 0. This is the total distance from the sensor to the bottom of the silo.

20mA is full or 150,000 lbs, for example. A reading of 2 foot might mean the material sits just 2 feet from the scanner horn. Try to allow for a couple of feet because the acoustic signals need this distance to properly bounce a reading.  Any closer to the scanner and you get incorrect readings or an error.
